But what of social equity? How equitable has legal cannabis been in Illinois? Representative La Shawn K. Ford (https://www.ilga.gov/house/rep.asp?MemberID=2567) of Illinois' 8th District says it has not been nearly equitable enough and he's leading a new state-run cannabis working group with the goal of moving the state into a more truly equitable place, so this "green rush" will actually benefit those who have been hit the hardest by the war on drugs.
